Issue
Why use executive coaches for diversity and inclusion? Professionals in many disciplines routinely use coaching to further develop and hone existing expertise, develop new capabilities, and provide fresh insights and solutions to complex issues. Business executives and leaders frequently tell us they benefit from coaching about diversity and inclusion (D&I) in situations such as:
New roles. A high-performing executive takes on a new role and needs an independent perspective to focus and accelerate progress and results. Representative new roles include leading a diversity council, or building a new relationship with an Employee Network Group.

Team effectiveness and innovation. A leader needs fresh ideas and a practical approach to drive business results through diversity and inclusion.

Inter-personal relationships.
Key individuals in an organization need to develop a more effective working relationship.

Organizational conflict.
A leader needs new possibilities and perspectives about resolving conflict within their organization.

Leadership Style, Communication, and engagement.
A leader needs to improve communication with their organization to generate a more supportive and productive work environment.
Solution
MDB Group's principals have coached executives and leaders on all these people and work environment issues. Our approach is tailored to the specific needs of each situation.

We focus the executive or leader on identifying their own core needs and commitments, developing their own new view of possibilities, and creating their own action plans for moving forward.

Coaching based on intercultural competence is a highly effective means of building individual, team, and organizational effectiveness. Being interculturally competent means effectively understanding and communicating with people of different backgrounds.

In today's complex business environment, this is central to leadership, teamwork, and organization effectiveness for any executive and for any team or organization be it local or global.

To confidentially and constructively diagnose an executive’s needs and efficiently guide development, MDB Group recommends the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI).

IDI is a theory-based diagnostic instrument that measures a person’s intercultural sensitivity. It indicates their level of competence in communicating with people of different backgrounds, cultures, or perspectives. IDI also provides a guide to individual development plans.

MDB Group is certified to provide this outstanding instrument as part of our executive coaching services.
